CLIFF is committed at all times to conducting our business in a responsible and sustainable way.We want to actively support the environment and the communities local to our properties wherever possible.

Our Communities and Charities

We believe in and support our local communities and national and international causes through our partnerships with a wide selection of recognised charities. Each year, we support 100 organisations, contributing to fundraising events with donations from our properties.

We work with local schools, colleges and clubs to promote initiatives and train and develop skills amongst their students and members. Our meeting and conference facilities are available to not-for–profit schemes in order to facilitate their events and meetings. Should you have a charity request, please email us here.

Our Environment

At CLIFF we are passionate about doing our part to preserve the people and environment around all our properties. We continually strive to incorporate good environmental practice into our workplace.

We take a sustainable approach to waste management, partnering with our waste firm to move towards a ‘zero waste policy’. We are members of Repak and Green Hospitality. Over 80% of our lighting in all sites is LED. CLIFF operations both save water through bathroom fittings and recycle hot water where possible. Our staff induction and ongoing training includes extensive initiatives to reduce our carbon emissions.

As a culinary led group, we wish to operate sustainable gastronomy in all our venues. Where possible, food is grown onsite or locally through partnerships with local communities and small producers. The food miles within our group are kept to a minimum. Food security is promoted within CLIFF to work with certified food producers, preferable organically certified. Nutrition is optimised by the use of best quality in season produce, high stock rotations and minimum storage periods of our produce. We support biodiversity by not using any chemicals in our home-produced food, prioritising organic producers and by cultivating beehives at Cliff at Lyons.
