At the launch of the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2020 on October 7th in London, CLIFF achieved 3 stars across the group
Just a few short months after opening, husband and wife Jordan and Majken Bech Bailey and their young, multi award-winning team at Aimsir have been awarded not one, but two Michelin stars for their ground-breaking restaurant which opened in May in the stunning setting of Cliff at Lyons in Kildare.
Going straight to two Michelin stars from opening is an extraordinary achievement, something that has never been done in Ireland before, and the recognition copper-fastens an incredible first few months for Aimsir, where the food, service and entire team have already been universally fêted by the media, winning multiple hospitality awards.
The House Restaurant at Cliff House Hotel, Ardmore has retained its Michelin star for the 11th consecutive year. The kitchen in The House Restaurant led by Chef Martijn Kajuiter is to be commended for their consistency, their excellence and their hard work.
The team at The House Restaurant has worked hard to build close relationships with the superb Irish producers in the area, and the combination of this fantastic local produce with modern cooking techniques makes Cliff House Hotel one of the finest and most exciting places to eat in Ireland.
Winning two Michelin stars is a superb endorsement for Aimsir, particularly so soon after opening, and adds an extra sparkle to the culinary achievements of CLIFF. Having a second restaurant recognised by the Michelin Guide, especially in such a unique and different rural setting to that of Ardmore’s seaside gem, The House Restaurant, is a source of pride and delight to the entire CLIFF family.
